The Schmucks Behind One of the World’s Best Bars Open in New York
With high-concept cocktails and a Barbie-pink bathroom, one of the city’s most anticipated drinking spots has arrived.

Source: SchmuckNew York, there’s a new schmuck in town. In a city where they’re almost as common as pigeons, it’s not the kind of arrival that usually garners much attention, let alone celebration. This one, however, is different.
Opening on Wednesday, the long-anticipated East Village cocktail bar Schmuck will serve such high-concept drinks as the Fika, inspired by the Swedish coffee-and cinnamon bun repast. It’s crafted from brioche distillate, butter-infused Rémy Martin, cinnamon syrup with amontillado sherry and Mr Black coffee liqueur. And you can sip on these ingredient-driven cocktails while lounging on classic pieces of midcentury European design, including a set of Dieter Rams 620 Chair Programme black-and-white chairs.
