Anti-Corruption Efforts in South Africa Stagnate, Group Says
Efforts by the South African authorities to combat corruption appear to have stagnated and the country remains below the global average on an index that measures perceptions of graft, according to advocacy group Corruption Watch.
The country scored 41 on Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions index in 2024, the same as the year before and below the world average of 43, Corruption Watch said in a statement on Tuesday.
