If spending time in (or even near) a national park is on your bucket list this year, you’ll want to make your reservations sooner rather than later. Consider that in 2024, US national parks received a record 331.9 million recreational visits, according to the National Park Service. Canada’s parks have caught up to pre-pandemic levels as well, reaching 23.7 million visitors during fiscal year 2023-24.

As eager as vacationers are to get close to rugged and beautiful natural places, they like the idea of doing it in style and comfort, and hospitality brands—from traditional hotels to glamping retreats—are taking note. In March, luxury camping brand Under Canvas announced a $50 million investment to upgrade and grow its glamping sites around the US, including two new locations near Yosemite National Park in California and the Columbia River Gorge in Washington, expansions to Under Canvas’ North Yellowstone location and new children’s tents at select camps.
