South Africa’s Ramaphosa Sets Up Panel to Probe Apartheid Crimes

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has signed a proclamation to establish a judicial commission of inquiry to determine whether attempts were made to prevent the investigation and prosecution of apartheid-era crimes.

The commission will be led by retired Constitutional Court Judge Sisi Khampepe and will be expected to complete its work within six months and submit its report within 60 days of the completion of its work, the Presidency said in a statement.
