Six years after enforcing a tax on air travel, Sweden is reversing course as the government seeks to revive the country’s ailing commercial aviation industry.

The government will scrap a levy of as much 517 kronor ($54) for flights, depending on the distance flown, effective July 1. The move runs counter to neighboring Denmark, which aims to introduce an aviation tax by the end of the year.
