Kenya’s economy performed slightly worse than expected in the first quarter, weighed by its tourism and manufacturing sectors.

Gross domestic product grew by 4.9% in the three months through March from a year earlier, compared with 5.1% in the previous quarter, Kenya National Bureau of Statistics said in a report on its website on Thursday. That lagged the central bank’s 5% estimate.
