Mozambique’s attorney-general charged prominent opposition leader Venâncio Mondlane for inciting terrorism, disobedience and other crimes following post-election violence that left hundreds of people dead.

“The charges have already been formalized,” Mondlane told reporters in a press conference screened by state-owned broadcaster TVM Tuesday. “The next steps now are to gather local and international lawyers” to discussion options on how to respond, he said.
