Sweden Core Inflation Slowdown Keeps Autumn Easing in Play
Sweden’s core inflation rate fell somewhat more in July than analysts expected, likely keeping the country’s central bank on track for another interest rate cut next month to support the misfiring economy.
The reading for CPIF inflation rate excluding energy fell to 3.1% last month from 3.3% in June, according to a preliminary release from Statistics Sweden on Thursday. The median forecast in a Bloomberg survey of analysts was 3.2%, while the Riksbank projected a rate of 2.8%.
