Squarepoint Hires Metal Traders to Expand in Physical Copper

Investment firm Squarepoint Capital LLP hired traders to source and sell metals from all over the world, the latest sign of the firm’s major push into physical commodity trading.

Bill Shi, Tom Kung, Andrew Briscoe, Baofa Wang, Nik Miskov, Efrain Contreras and Martin Fleischlin are set to join Squarepoint next month as part of its physical commodities business, the firm said in response to questions. All have resigned over the past few months from storied metals trading house MRI Trading AG.
