NYC Shooting Horror Rocks Rudin's Century-Old Property Dynasty
The deadly day at 345 Park Ave. is thrusting a long-time private real estate family, the Rudins, into the spotlight.
Just weeks ago in the lobby of 345 Park Ave., the Rudin family celebrated 100 years as a New York City real estate dynasty, surrounded by politicians and Wall Street’s elite.
On Monday evening, that same space turned into a site of terror as a gunman, Shane Tamura, went on a shooting spree. After killing three people in the lobby, he invaded Rudin’s headquarters on the 33rd floor, where he killed the firm’s own employee Julia Hyman.
